I used a hot knife (Exacto knife that heats up).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe cord wraps around the circlular part underneath the shelf, feed the power cable throught the hole and plug it in. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe best part, at least in may experience, is that the plug brick for the Amazon Echo Dot actually helps support the weight of the shelf and speaker once you plug it in to the wall. Takes a little bit of trickery to assemble everything, with the outlet cover, then put everything back on to the outlet and screw in the outlet cover, but it worked for me the first time and has held for about 6 months so far with no sign of issues. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHope it works out for you as well as it did for me.
