dummy-13-w-changeable-armor-500-for-a1-mini
Dummy 13 w/ Changeable Armor - 500% for A1 Mini

TL;DR

I made a 500% model of Dummy 13 v1.0 that can be printed on the A1 Mini with changeable armor. Once you have the frame, all you need to do is print different armor sets to what ever color you'd like! I highly recommend printing joints created by Vasichkin as these worked the best in all filaments I've tried (PLA, PETG and PETG HF). Here is the link to the model for slightly more flexible joints: https://makerworld.com/en/models/639152#profileId-564927

Disclaimer:

Please note, if you don't already have a 500% model, this is a lot of filament and printing time so I highly recommend you print one part at a time to ensure everything prints correctly. Please refer to the link below to print reliable joints as the ones in my profile have a chance of breaking if you don't use a heat gun (be careful with the heat gun and don't hold heat to close to the parts for too long or they will deform). If there are any troubles, please reach out to me. I understand the amount of filament and time this model requires so I want to be sure everything prints perfectly.

Remix Details:

Lucky 13 Toys has created a great model named Dummy 13 (thank you Lucky 13 Toys!). I love this model so much and decided I needed two things to push it over the edge:

A model that is a 500% version, fully printable on the A1 Mini, and holds poses very well

I wanted the armor to be changeable as my 18 month old is loving different colors week to week.

I printed the pieces in Bambu PETG, Bambu PETG HF, and Creality PETG. All filaments printed great on the A1 Mini. The current settings are tested in multiple filaments and colors to ensure they are consistent. I highly recommend no changes be made to infill, speed or walls if printing in PETG. A few comments:

Blue color pieces have not been cut in half as they are fairly easy to remove when the figure is assembled.

This profile is meant for the armor, but I included the frame as well in case anyone breaks theirs or needs to print it at 500%.

Legs and Arms are only for one side. Will need to print some plates twice to get the full figure assembly

Please test one piece at a time to ensure it prints good on your printer.

Ironing is optional, but I like the look of it so I kept it in the profile.

You will need a small pick and needle nose pliers to remove some supports.

I prefer to use normal (auto) snug supports as these are very easy to remove and leave little markings.

The current settings are not optimized for fast printing, but good quality prints (slower printing speeds, ironing, and support).

In regards to joints, mine kept breaking when trying to attach the arms. I printed some joints in TPU for the AMS just to see how they would hold. The W joints are holding up great! The others not so much. I included a test sample in the print profile for anyone who wants to try it out. Ultimately, I highly recommend printing joints created by Vasichkin as these worked the best in all filaments I've tried (PLA, PETG and PETG HF).
