Filament Spool Storage Rack / VESKEN Shelf leg

Update 21-01-2025:

V2 address some issues that other users noted (Thanks user_3704028557 & user_1427193515). Additionally, I’ve added some modifications to guide the assembly pieces.

Design Changes:

Note: This version came out tighter than the previous one, so maybe more force is needed to put it together. But it snaps to place perfectly.

• The main leg body size now matches the size of original Ikea VESKEN leg (However, the clips got trimmed to fit in the build plate without effecting the functionality).
• Fixed the retaining clip size so it will snap probably in place. Now you will need tools to disassemble the legs after snapping the part together (Flat head screwdriver works perfectly, you might need two of them).
• Added some chamfers to the retaining clip side of the leg. This helps with the installation. 
• Adjusted the hole size located on one side of the clips to get rid of the wiggle it had in the initial release.
• Made some small adjustment to the leg depth as I notated it was thicker when compared to the Ikea original legs.

Profile improvement:

• Easier support removal.
• Cleaner top surface pattern.

With all that said If you already have printed the initial design; and its working for you, then you don’t need to print this one, I won’t, it should still hold the VESKEN together with no issues.

Initial Release:

I needed to attach 2 Ikea VESKEN Shelf units together to use as spool storage, this allowed me to do so

The VESKEN will hold both boxes and/or spools and two unites will hold 42 spools or boxes

Please Note: going up to the 7 levels was too heavy for the wheels when fully loaded, if you need to move them around freely use this suggestions:

• up to 5 levels fully loaded in every level
• up to 6-7 levels partially loaded for at least 3 levels

Printing:

• Support is required
• I was able to fit 2 count in K1 Max
• I was able to fit 1 in Bambu X1
• I didn't try to print the 2 sides (I've cut it with PrusaSlicer)
