foldable-gadget-stand
Foldable Gadget Stand

Actually this is Experimental design I decided to try before I will do actual Big one I'm planning (Adjustable Stand for XPPen drawing Screen/Tablet). So it is not perfect, maybe a bit flimsy as smaller size brought a lot of challenges, headaches and actually a lots of printed and rejected prototypes what I didn't expect here, but I got to the point I actually like and now happily using, I decided why not to share it with nice people :)

I hope Assembling here is simple enough so There is no need in detailed assembly instructions and steps I'll give here will be very much enough. So…

Tips on assembly

Firstly Printing instructions:

You can print all parts on one plate except of optional TPU foots if you are going to print them

Supports needed (very few) only for both backing support parts. You can turn on to Support Critical Regions only to even reduce Support amount if Your Printer doing well vertical holes.

Few parts are needed to print twice. If You are Using Bambu Studio 3mf Profile, all is done for You. But if You are printing from RAW STL files I Have mentioned that on part STL file description. And They are:
- Foot
- Support Bar (I called it Prop , don't know why :D )
- Pin
- PinCap - Those are to be printed 4 (four) of them
- Optional TPU Foot

There is no other special Printing requirements. I Used 3 wall loops, 5 Top and 3 Bottom Layers with 15% Gyroid infill and it is good enough as parts are small. If You want you can play with them settings and use your favourites I don't thing there will be any difference in strength.

Now few things on assembly itself:

Additional to printed parts You will need a few small drops of glue and Four very small pieces of 1.75mm filament or anything similar with the same diameter.

When You are fitting Foot and Support Bar(Prop) to the Back Plates use a Piece of filament as Hinge Rod. Cut in sizes and stick in Hinge Holes. Then use a Small drop of Glue on open ends to secure it:

When You are assembling expanding center parts using Pins/PinCaps Use a very small drop of glue again in Pin's center hole before fit them together. Just Try with no Glue first to make sure it goes together with no problem.

Be aware Bottom Joints used to expand the stand are not the same. When You are fitting them to Back plates make sure You fit them right. It is very easy, Them grove must be aligned with hole fitting of the Back Plate. In other words RightBottomJoint has to be fitted to Right back and same for Left ones in right orientation. Here is what I mean saying about aligned grove:

One small remark about Glueing here. This is most tricky in all assembly process. Use a very little bit, try to wipe all excess of missed glue as You don't want to glue parts together only Filament rod ends to hold them in place and Pins/PinCaps. I would suggest to move joints after glueing for a minute or ⅔ to make sure they dont stick together because of some over spilled glue drop.

And lastly here is TPU Foot. As stand is very light and made of plastic which usually could be quite slippery there are few ways to make it stable on table. You can just use a non slip mat. As other option is to cut in form and glue to the bottom of Foots something Like Non Slip Gripper mesh mat (works well for me) or as an option I made 0.4mm thick TPU foots if you have some no slip TPU filament and Like to go that road. How effective is TPU as non slip material I don't honestly know so I can't comment anything here.

I think That's must be all You need to know to assemble Stand Together.
