I was sadden to find out that the redesigned Google Android mascot “the Bot” was sold out on the Google Store.  So what do you do if you know a little 3D design and have a 3D printer?  That's right, make your own!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMy version stands around 80mm tall (depending on the angle of the antennae) and goes well with the original series of Android Collectibles.  There are 5 points of articulation, 2 arms, 2 antennae and the head rotates.  I ran out of green fliament so the test prints are all in raw material except for the eyes.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAll of the left and right parts are mirrored except for the eyes.  Please make sure you know which one is which after your print them as each one has a slightly different contour to match the head.  The pins for the arms and the antenna should be printed face down for the best strength.  If the arm and neck pins are too loose\/tight, you can scale them up and down slightly to suit your print.  In the .3mf file, the pin joints are on a separate plate.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIf you want to get fancy, you can use magnets in the body and the head instead of using a neck joint.  It will require (2) two 8x2mm magnets and it my preferred method of joining the head to the body.\u003cbr\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the true spirit of Android being open source, I haven't placed any restrictions on this model.  Modify it, sell it, but please respect the source and attribute your mods back here to the source.  Don't forget to show me your work as I'd love to see where and how this model reaches people.
