Next try was making a clip that fit the dovetail style base. That printed better but was too floppy. So I tried to make one that fit the screw together bases but found that not all the screw bases have the holes in the same spot so it would only fit one style of base…\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThen I realized a lot of the bases have a 3mm hole for a fastener in the same place. Using this hole to attach the clip to would allow the clip to work with a wider range of bases, allow the clip to be printed in a good orientation and was really easy to install.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLow on time to make the \u003ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.printables.com\/contest\/407-car-holders\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"\u003eCar Holders\u003c\/a\u003e contest deadline I tried a couple existing clips instead of designing my own and goTVm's clip worked the best (and it included a step file, thanks!).
