jd-ball-joint-v2-beta-1
JD Ball Joint V2 (Beta 1)

JD Ball Joint V2 (Beta 1)

FREE TO USE WITHOUT ATTRIBUTION + FREE TO USE COMMERCIALLY

This is the first public iteration of my redesign of my original Ball Joint. This is a far superior design with much stronger parts, which allows for even better tightening than the original.

I call this "Beta 1" because I've only tested it for a few days. However, this is not my first make - it's the 7th iteration, and merely the 1st to be publicized.

I've tested it in PLA only, so if you print this in any other material, be sure to let me know how it went!

My own use case is for a camera holder that attaches to my P1S' display, where the ball joints allow me to flex the position of the surveillance camera. When the printer doesn't need to be monitored, I swing the camera up and it functions as a security cam for our living room. The arm even allows me to reposition the camera to look down on the print from the top (as I don't have an AMS).

Feel free to incorporate this into your own design, but before you do, make a print and test out the tolerance and performance.

Design by jakobdam on MakerWorld (license: CC0).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0987/0809/5280/files/0_0b11e67c-4ba7-4d3c-b651-4a6b3c2bd2cf.png?v=1785305039
