I wanted to make her life a little easier by not having to worry about refilling the tank every other day. I landed on installing a small float valve, but did not want to drill a hole into the tank lid. So, I remodeled the lid with a hole specifically for the valve install along with replacement pins. Install took about 15 minutes with testing the fittings.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBOM:\u003cbr\u003e- This replacement lid\u003cbr\u003e- This \u003ca target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer ugc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B094H8ZM5W\/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8\u0026amp;th=1\"\u003efloat valve kit\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e- 10x2mm magnet (I used \u003ca target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer ugc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B09X1WWD3P\/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8\u0026amp;psc=1\"\u003ethese\u003c\/a\u003e)\u003c\/p\u003e\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAttach the magnets.\u003cbr\u003eGlue two magnets each (4 total) in place on the two tabs on the replacement lid. These will attach to the magnets on the side of the machine to aide in holding the tank in place just like the factory lid. Be sure to check orientation before gluing in place.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAdjust the top mount float to point downward. \u003cbr\u003eJust loosen the small screw, adjust the angle (reference photo provided) to be about 70° and tighten the screw back up.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRemove the factory lid. \u003cbr\u003eThere are pins on each side. You'll need to pull the arm on the inside inward a bit. This will pull the pin out slightly. Let the arm go and there should be just enough space to use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the pin the rest of the way. Repeat for the other side.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAttach the float valve to the new lid.\u003cbr\u003eThe valve may need to be screwed through the hole. Then, attach the provided nut.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePlumb your lines.\u003cbr\u003eThis will vary by installation type and location. My machine is directly next to the refrigerator, so I just teed off of the existing water line. I'd suggest installing one of the provided manual shutoff valves near the machine.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eInstall the lid.\u003cbr\u003eYou'll need to maneuver the valve body around the carry handle inside the tank. This is pretty easy though.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eInstall the replacement pins.\u003cbr\u003eThese are a friction fit with enough of the pin sticking out on the inside of the tank to remove them if necessary. You'll need to print two of them.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTest it all out.\u003cbr\u003eTurn the water on and verify that none of the fitting are leaking. Start with an empty tank and verify that the valve closes once near the top.
