The only market options available are:

Flimsy, limited plastic extenders

And expensive CSM-style replacement belt parts

And frankly, both of these suck. They're not compatible with every belt, don't always work with belt attachments/holders, are overpriced, and require multiple purchases if you want one for every belt in your collection to ensure they match the DX belt's colorway/design.

My aim was to fix all of these issues with this design; to create a simple-to-print, easy to assemble extension belt option, compatible with any standard DX/Legend belt, and requiring only minimal, low-cost materials to do so so long as you have a 3D printer.

And big thanks to chairhome on Thingiverse. I used his model as a starting point which saved me a bunch of time recreating the DX belt notches. You can always adjust the strap afterwards, but this prevents you from accidentally cutting off too much. Then continue to repeat steps 2 through 4, using the remaining 2 printed pieces to finish constructing your extension. Now, simply adjust the strap until the fit is comfortable with whichever driver you use it for.

Update: 18/04/25

Adjusted the length of the male connector to make it compatible with earlier DX belts and their remolds (e.g. the Decadriver & Legendriver), of which the length of the female connection point is measured at 26mm rather than today's standard of 28mm.

Have also introduced a number of bevels on many of the model's edges to improve comfort when using the extension for long periods of time.

Design by weebsauce on MakerWorld (license: BY).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0987/0809/5280/files/0_aa3ffd63-a49a-4589-8d3c-7c17146e4d45.jpg?v=1785815595
