Both have 3 plates. The first plate contains both angles and is set to print by object. There are an additional 2 plates - 1 for each angle. Make sure to select the plate you want when printing.

The first profile is what I consider the “minimum” needed. I'm sure you could get away with less infill and 2 walls, but it is already so light that it doesn't “feel” right. I Recommend the high quality profile. It still only uses about 7.5g per object

_________________________________

Are you trying to learn how to sharpen chisels and plane blades without a guide? This magnetic level is the tool you need to build muscle memory.

Two common angles are provided in the model - 25* and 30*. Print, insert magnets and a bubble level, attach it to your chisel and you'll know when you are holding it at the right angle. It is quicker than a traditional sharpening guide. After a few times you'll build muscle memory and won't need a guide at all. The easier it is to sharpen, the more you'll do it.

I picked one up in 2014, and it helped me ditch guides all together. I was cleaning out my shop drawers and recently found it. I was surprised to learn it is no longer sold. So I modeled it up and and putting it out here for you to enjoy.

Note: When placing it on your chisel or plane iron, you want to be looking at the face of this guide.

Bill of materials

2 6x3mm magnets

1 10x6mm bullseye level

I was able to press fit everything in; add a drop of CA glue if you want. Insert the magnets just below the surface as you'll want to make sure the guide will sit flat on your chisel.

Printing guidelines

I like 3 walls and a lot of infill. You don't really need it, but I like the extra weight it provides.
