I aimed to create a quick-release plate you could use for anything you want, not just cameras. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI tried to make the design as simple as possible while using also as little hardware as possible, but an M4x14-16 screw with a nylon nut is still required, although a regular nut with some superglue should also work. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe main goal is for people to create their own bases and plates for whatever they need, which is why I shared the editable step files and put the whole project into the public domain, meaning you can do whatever you want with these files.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI recommend printing in PETG in the orientation shown above. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #E14747\"\u003eThis \u003cstrong\u003eisn't\u003c\/strong\u003e supposed to be a replacement for conventional tripods for cameras and such.\u003c\/span\u003e It's supposed to be an option to be able to use tripods and quick-release plates with things you usually can't use them with.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThings like lights and the other examples in the photos.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf you have a really nice camera, then I encourage you to buy a nice tripod for it with a proper metal quick-release plate.
