I also found the edges to be pretty sharp, even for me—I do not want to admit how many times I have stepped on it because my dog pulled it on the ground. Anyway, I thought it right to fix these changes, as I used to bring it to school, but my teacher did not like the squeeeeeeak sound it made as it turned. Credit to the original designer \u003ca target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer ugc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/emmett\/designs\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEmmett\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, it is really addicting!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWhat's changed?\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cul style=\"list-style-type: disc\"\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe Center piece has a new rest inset inside for the pins, this way they do not squeak because they were constantly under tension.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eI redesigned the corner gears, so now the edges are less sharp and are filleted to make holding the model more comfortable.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eScaled entire model to 125% (on the large print profile) to make it easier for kids and adults to both use. (scale back to 80% for original size or use the other print profile)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAdapted pin sizes, so they do not squeak and have less friction against the center.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAlso, increased spacing between the gear pieces and added more flex, so finger pinching is almost impossible, also even it does happen, fingers are not pinched because the gears flex outwards instead of squeezing the skin. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003ch3\u003eRecommended Filament:\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou can print in just about anything. But know, different filaments will produce different tolerances for the pieces. I suggest if you use other filaments that are not PETG or PLA (those are what I have tested) you should test different pin sizes because the pin's grip will change depending on the filament.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMAKE SURE YOU DRY YOUR FILAMENT! \u003c\/strong\u003eOtherwise, the more wet filament will make it squeak, as imperfections in the pins could cause squeaking.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSilk PLA (not necessary but looks really cool!)\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul style=\"list-style-type: circle\"\u003e\u003cli\u003eI recommended some filaments that look amazing with it. Any offset gear will be obvious. This is important otherwise it will not work properly!
