This model is relatively large, about 435mm long and 80mm wide, and is printed and assembled in 3 pieces. The main fore and aft turrets can rotate and raise\/lower their barrels. The casemated side turrets can rotate as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis was an exercise for me in designing multi-part models and casemated turrets in FreeCAD.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePrinting and Assembly:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou can use either the STEP or STL file for printing each part. For reference, I used 0.2mm layer height and generic PLA settings on my A1 Mini.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePrint out the ForwardHull, MidHull, and AftHull STL\/STEP files. They should fit together easily via the T-junction.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePrint out the LookoutMast STL\/STEP file. Works best if you lay it out horizontally on its back. The square base of the mast should fit snugly into the square hole in the Mid Hull, behind the bridge.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePrint out 2 copies of the TurretHousing and TurretBarrel STL\/STEP files.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe turret housing should be printed right-side up (otherwise you might need supports if you print it upside down). Just align and press them through deck holes in the fore and aft hull. There may be some stringing in turret deck holes, but they should snap when pressing the turret through them. Or you can snip them off ahead of time, if you want to be cleaner about it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe turret barrel is trickier, but I print it oriented vertically, barrel down, with a raft to support the build. If you use raft or supports, please remove them thoroughly when done. Afterwards, just press the barrel into the turret housing groove; the barrel piece should flex and snap right in.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePrint out 8 copies of the CasemateCannon STL\/STEP file. These are kind of fiddly, because of their small size and shape.
