Starlink Mini Magnetic Roof Mount
A vehicle roof mount for the Starlink Mini dish based on the design by Sadteeto. This mount uses 4 magnetic mounting feet and a series of flanged caps to secure the dish into the mount leaving the face fully exposed. The parts required for assembly are some brass threaded inserts, stainless steel screws, and the magnet mounting feet. This mount has been tested up to 100 mph (160 km/h) for a short duration and has been road tested for 1000+ km's at typical highway speeds and on rough roads with no issues or movement. The curved leading edge prevents the mount from whistling in the wind and the louvers in the side assist with convective cooling of the dish. The addition of the cable tie mounting rail stops the power cord from flapping in the wind or rubbing against the paint on the roof. I printed the mount using PETG for better UV and temperature resistance with 4 walls and gyroid infill. The mount is plenty strong with 15% infill and the additional walls help with inserting the heat pressed inserts which can be easily set using a soldering iron.
