This is a strong and practical 3D-printable box designed to hold a standard brick and secure the legs of a party tent, gazebo, or canopy—especially useful when you're setting up on a hard surface like a terrace where piquets (ground stakes) can't be used.
Commercial tent weights typically cost ~€50 or more per piece, but if you have a few bricks lying around, this DIY option is much more affordable. Each box uses about 200g of filament to print and is surprisingly strong and durable, even in windy conditions.
Whether you're hosting a garden party, market stall, or outdoor event on paved surfaces, this print offers a clever and cost-effective way to stabilize your setup.
Usage
- First, insert the tent leg into the center of the box.
- Then insert a brick on top to add weight and keep the structure stable.
Requirements / Dimensions
- The box fits bricks up to 22 × 11 cm, (should be big enough for standard European, UK or US bricks).
- It supports tent legs up to 31 × 30 mm.
- It also has a slightly wider opening in the bottom, allowing tent legs with base plates to slide through.
(successfully tested with a base plate of 6 × 6 cm.)
