Description

Have you printed hundreds of benchys, yet you have nowhere to store them? Then the benchy cargo ship is for you! Store your benchys on this large cargo ship model! Hide them away inside of crates or proudly display them on wooden pallets. This model combines many features of the benchy to create a large cargo ship inspired by the benchy. From a benchy shaped hull to benchy like smoke stacks you will find many iconic features of the benchy spread throughout this model. This model also functions as a stress test for your printer, similarly to the original benchy, but it tests your printers overhang support intensely.  This model also uses an AMS, but you can set it up for layer stops if you do not have an AMS but still want multiple colors

Features

  • Storage crates that can fit multiple benchys inside and are stackable
  • Wooden pallets that have an imprint to store a benchy
  • Wooden pallets without implant to display other items
  • Oil barrels for decoration
  • Boat split into smaller pieces that can be put together

Stats

  • Total print time: 1 day 17 hours
  • Print cost: $42.67
  • Total plates: 9

Please Note

  • I am not a professional 3D artist. There are likely a few issues with this model. I will release a V2 in a week or two that will fix some of these issues. If you encounter such issues you can post them in the comments for me to fix
  • Some parts are fragile and must be handled with care or they will snap

Issues With Printing

If you are having issues printing try the following

  • Increase the inner and outer wall thickness. This may cause a few issues such as parts of the railing disappearing but it helps if the walls are spitting open
  • Use a different infill. Lightning is used purely for speed and cost efficiency. If you are okay with longer print times and a more expensive print this can greatly improve the quality
  • Print at a slower speed. Also improves quality but takes longer

Assembly

Line up pieces so that individual parts line up and apply glue on the connection parts

Hold the pieces together until glue dries and repeat for all pieces
