The sunroof cover of a BMW E46 had persistent issues due to broken mounting tabs, causing the cover to sag from the ceiling. Inspired by an existing design from Cults3D, I created a modified version of the original model (reference: BMW E46 Sunroof Motor Cover Clip) to address the specific needs of this repair. The design was adjusted for improved fit and function, ensuring that the print remains invisible once installed.
The repair process involved carefully removing the remnants of the original tabs, cleaning the surface with rubbing alcohol, and positioning the new tabs slightly forward of their original mounting points. While the result isn’t visually refined, the solution effectively restores the sunroof cover’s functionality.
