I have just received a “HatDrive! Bottom” for my Raspberry Pi 5, which I ordered to use an NVMe SSD instead of the usual SD card. Since I could not find any case for this combo, I quickly modeled this very basic one. Please note that I only exposed the basic ports (USB, Ethernet, power, and HDMI) and the on/off button. No point leaving a slot for the SD card, since it is blocked by the FPC ribbon cable, and I do not use the MIPI DSI/CSI connectors. The HatDrive's board is a bit longer than the pi, so the on/off button is a bit far inside, but it is reachable through the small hole.
There should be sufficient airflow: I am using the official Active Cooler and I can't reach 70ºC, even after more than 10 minutes under full load (running “stress -c 4”). I also added a grid pattern on the bottom side, so that the NVMe drive has some air, though mine did not seem to heat up.
The two sides slide into each other, and you can secure them with M3 bolts (anything longer than 15mm should be fine).
I printed this in ABS, PLA might deform pretty quickly give the temperature. PETG should work fine as well, but I had a roll of ABS in the AMS, so I went with that.
