This was designed around Prismacolor's 150 pencil set.  The default configuration holds 168 pencils, leaving a little room for extra.  Each drawer holds 28 pencils.  There are 6 pencil drawers and a larger top drawer for storing pens, markers, erasers, small sharpeners, or whatever else you need.

This model requires 8x2mm magnets to keep the drawers closed. 7 drawers requires 28 magnets total. Without the magnets, the drawers will slide out easily when you pick this up. It's a big mess, you don't want that.  Unfortunately, the popular 6x2mm size magnets were not strong enough to keep the drawers closed.  The magnets require a firm press fit.  They may require glue, but I haven't had any pop out yet.

The handle requires four M3x12mm screws and two M3 nuts.

The outer box is just under 500g of filament. The drawers are 140g each, and the top drawer is 175g.  The total is just over 1.5kg of filament. It is a bit expensive, especially with the magnets, but likely still cheaper than a nice commercial organizer.

There are optional TPU feet that do help quite a bit with sliding.

I added a cherry blossom graphic to break up the large, flat surfaces a bit.  This was added in the slicer, not in CAD, so it's really easy to remove if you don't want it, or you can replace it with your own SVG.  If you make changes in CAD, though, you will have to re-add the graphic.  I used a 0.8mm depth.

Parametric

This model was designed in FreeCAD with configuration in mind.  It is easy enough to change the number of drawers or make other configurations.
If there is another popular configuration you'd like, reach out to me and I may be able to accommodate.

License

This model is public domain, with the exception that it can not be posted on other 3d printing sites.  Further, I retain the rights to my photos an the text of this description. I like making my models free, but I shouldn't have to compete with my own model on other sites. I don't think that's too much to ask.  Feel free to post remixes on other sites, if you want.

The cherry blossom SVGs are also public domain and they can be used for any purpose.
