Double Suet Tail-Prop Feeder Great for Woodpeckers
The feeder includes two suet cages that are easy to open and refill, attracting a variety of birds such as woodpeckers, chickadees, finches, flickers, and titmice. With an extended tail support area, this feeder allows clinging birds like woodpeckers to rest their tails and maintain stability while feeding. Easy to assemble, the two printed pieces fit together with tabs for gluing and the suet cages are attached with cable tie wraps.
I printed mine with PETG from iSANMATE brown and army green. I suggest ASA or PETG for outdoor use.
The roof is printed as one piece without supports; the two halves grow at 45 degree angles and join at the top; bed adhesion is important for this, so a brim is suggested, and I used the cool plate super-tack to be sure.
Mine didn't come out perfect, but the birds don't mind at all.
The Suet Cages I used are Pennington brand
