Favorite Filament Sample Holder (storage label)

This is a snap-in holder for the „Favorite Filament Sample“ by GlennovitS 3D. I use it to label my filament storage boxes but you can use it for whatever you want. Just glue it to the surface of your liking.

The samples snap in with a satisfying click and can be removed easily as well.

I included the *.step and *.f3d if you need some modification.

The sample holder is printed standing and I improved surface adhesion with mouse ears. I used the smooth PEI plate but I assume the textured PEI plate works as well. It looks dodgy but I printed over 20 of these and all of them came out well. So I hope it works for you too.

I used a 0.4 nozzle and 0.08 layer height because I wanted a clean look and smooth snap. Maybe it works with 0.2 layer height as well but I did not try. 

Printing only one holder is quite slow and takes over an hour. If you print more than one holder print time scales well, for example 7 holders print in about 3 hours.

Update 27.2.2025:

Added 0.2 layer height print profile.

Now I tried 0.2 layer height and it works as well. Sliding is not as smooth as 0.8mm layer height, but still okay.  If you have clearance problems you can scale the model non-uniformly: 

Thickness suggestion: 105-110%

Width suggestion: 100.3-100.6%
