Flying Saucer

Inspired by classic sci-fi designs, this spacecraft (I mean weather balloon) is sure to add a little extra paranormal to your Halloween.

The entire model was printed with PLA. Make the beam glow in the dark for added effect. I printed the beam in clear PLA then wrapped it in glow in the dark vinyl. Glow in the dark filament or paint would also be excellent options.

Instructions

1. To connect the top and bottom half, insert the alignment pins into one of the halves and dry fit the two halves together. Ensure the two halves are aligned correctly before applying glue. Apply glue to the mating surfaces and clamp together until it sets.
2. If using vinyl to wrap the beam, there is a dxf provided for the shape that must be cut. Wrap the vinyl around so the edge is flush with the bottom of the beam.
3. (Optional) Glue the beam into the bottom of the UFO for a permanent fit.
