Gridfinity Watch Stand - Watches with Large Bands

Description

This is the 4th remix of Luocheng Huang's Gridfinity Watch Stand, which I modified to fit 1x2 and 3x2 Gridfinity Watch cases I designed. This new version is designed for larger watches, especially ones with thick bracelets. For most other watches, I recommend using the standard version 3.0 watch holder.  You can also find the latest version of this design, which includes a desiccant holder at the link below:

Gridfinity Updated Single Watch Case (for larger watches)

Big thanks to Tommy Strobbe (on Printables) for helping to improve this design. I used Tommy's feedback extensively to iterate the design, so that it could fit larger watches (larger watches than the original version 3.0 holders).

There are two versions of the base and TPU inserts included here. The regular versions have a notch which allows them to be used with my Gridfinity Watch cases - linked below. The “no-SUPPORTS” versions do not have the notch, and can be used as stand alone holders, but may not fit my cases.

The TPU inserts will need to be printed in a flexible material.

A 3MF profile is included with one plate. The profile is set up with the following settings:

• PLA (for the bases) and TPU (for the flexible inserts)
• 0.4mm X1 Carbon profile
• 3 Walls with 15% Gyroid infill
• Arachne wall generator
• Manual Supports are painted on the parts that need them.
• Smooth PEI build plate (use glue as a release agent when running TPU)

Gridfinity Watch Stand v3.0 for Larger Watches This is the 3rd remix, and was the first to use a TPU cover, which really helped to better hold watches with fixed length bracelets.
Gridfinity Watch Stand - Watches with Large Bands This 4th remix was designed for larger watches, especially ones with thick bracelets.  It has the watch moved slightly forward, so watches with thick bands will fit the cases more easily.  It is otherwise very similar to the 3rd remix.
Gridfinity Watch Stand with Desiccant Holder The current version (5th remix), which includes three sizes of TPU covers (for small, medium and large watches), as well as a new compartment for holding desiccant, located in the center of the holder.  Each type of holder also now has a "tab" version, with a couple bumps which help support heavy watches (these can be seen in the pics).  This version should work for most folks, except those who have watches with very chunky bands (which the remix explained below is designed for).
Gridfinty Watch Stand with Desiccant Holder for Extra Large Watches This is an updated design to hold large watches with chunky bands.  It is similar to the above version, but moves the watch forward a bit (to make room for thick bands).  In the image, the holder was printed without the mesh screen for the desiccant, however it does have the same desiccant compartment as the holder shown above.  The watch by the way is an ADDIESDIVE Men's Diver's Watch (claimed to be 1000m), with a Seiko NH35 movement.  It's a good chunk of a watch, but also quite nice, with decent lume and a sapphire crystal.

Gridfinity 1x2 Wide Watch Case Version 3.0 This is the newest single watch case, and has a TPU liner in the top and bottom of the case.  It is a bit larger than the earlier single watch case, linked below, but may offer better protection for larger watches with bracelets, thanks to the full TPU liner.  The inside width of this case is 52.7mm.
Gridfinity 1x2 Watch Case Version 2.1 (12U) This is the prior version of the single watch case, and is a bit smaller.  It only has a TPU liner in the top of the case.  With the TPU liner installed, this watch case is approximately 46.5mm in width, where the crown of a watch would typically sit.
Gridfinity 3x2 Watch Case (12U) This is a three watch case, which has a TPU liner in the top only.

Other stuff:

If you need some bins for small parts, the following bins with covers are a good option to use with the Box For Stuff 20 bin and 25 bin cases (or other 6U tall cases):

1. 1 compartment 2x1 (3U, 6U, 9U) bin with a magnet pickup tool
2. 1x1, 1x2 (3 Compartment) and 1x4 (6Compartment) bins with lids (6U) - version 2.1
3. 1x2, 1x3 and 1x4 single compartment bins with tabbed lids (3U, 6U and 9U) - version 2.1
4. 1x2, 1x3, 1x4 (6U, 9U and 12U) Lidded Bin for Stuff with Latch Version 2.0
5. 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 (6U, 9U and 12U) Lidded Bin for Stuff with Latch Version 2.0
6. 3x3, 3x4 (6U, 9U and 12U) Lidded Bin for Stuff with Latch Version 2.0
7. 4x4, 4x5 (6U, 9U and 12U) Lidded Bin for Stuff with Latch Version 2.0

4/14/2025: Added some untested watch holders which are pending testing.  These are updated to work with changes which will be added to the 1x2 Gridfinity watch cases soon.  The new files are not available in a 3mf profile at this time, but can be found with the STL's (they are in the folder named “New Design - Pending Testing 4-14-2025”).

12/26/2025:  Added some optional TPU bumper models in the files > folder “Optional Bumpers”.
