3D-Printed IKEA RODALM Picture Frame Hanger

This custom-designed 3D-printed hanger allows you to mount IKEA RODALM picture frames on the wall using a command strip—a solution that isn’t typically possible due to the narrow frame edge and recessed backside.

Features

• Flat Surface: Supports various command strip sizes and provides a stable base for mounting.
• Command Strip Compatibility: Optimized for strips that are 1.2mm thick with an adhesive area of up to 75mm x 19mm.
  • Note: Velcro-style command strips are not recommended as their thickness may cause the frame to stick out from the wall. The Velcro feature isn’t necessary, as the frame can be easily removed without it.
• Sloped Wedge Design: Ensures the frame sits flush against the wall and allows side-to-side adjustment, similar to hanging with a nail.

Tested Frame Sizes

• Tested with IKEA RODALM frame sizes:
  • 12x16"
  • 16x20"
  • 19.75x27.5"

Installation Tips

1. Install the Command Strip: Position the strip with the pull tab exposed at the bottom for easy removal.
2. Clean Surfaces: For optimal performance, clean the 3D-printed hanger and wall area with rubbing alcohol and let them dry completely before mounting.
