Insect Water Station (parametric)

I used this model to attach a PET botlle in my design.

Summary:

A water station with a standard bottle as reservoir for all sorts of insects/arachnids/... .

Model Description:

With the increasing temperatures of the world, insects find fewer water sources than ever. To help them, you can do as little as putting some stones in a container with water for them to be able to drink without drowning. It works but requires refilling the water frequently, to alleviate this problem I found out there exist solutions (Bee oasis / Hydro Station / Bee water stations / … ) with a reservoir:

My model aimed at making a similar product easily 3dprintable and using common PET bottles as reservoir to recycle at the same time.

The model allows for the insects/arachnids/… to stand onto little pads and to drink the water that flows throught the channels around them.

Printing Information:

• Since this model will be exposed to the elements and will contain water you should use a non porous, uv resistant filaments like PETG or ASA. I recommend PETG as it is safer (similar to PET bottles plastic).
• To avoid poisoning the insects you should also thoroughly clean the model to remove any contaminants leftover from the 3dprinting process. You also can use a food-safe resin to coat the model for optimal protection.
