The original design fits a 7.5mm thick shaft. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1011186)
This remix fits a standard KY-040 rotary encoder button - 6mm thick shaft, 12.5 long (round section of the shaft at the bottom is 2.5mm long, D-shaped section is 10mm long).
The press-fit tolerance is 0.2mm (shaft hole is 6.2mm in diameter).
Additionally, the knob has a 2.5mm tall, 12mm in diameter larger hole at the bottom, to accommodate the tightening nut (11.4mm in diameter) inside the knob, allowing the knob base to be as close as 1mm from the mounting surface (still allowing the button to be pressed). Consequently it needs supports while printing.
Print Settings
- Supports: Yes
- Notes: Enable supports on the base plate, and enforce support blocker starting at height 2.8mm, to prevent supports going further in the narrow part of the shaft hole (which would be hard to remove while post-processing).
