I designed this air scrubber to use a minimum of special parts. Build it today, no magnets, brass inserts, or high performance fans required!
Read here about why you should have an air scrubber: https://github.com/nevermore3d/Nevermore_Micro#about-the-nevermore-micro
Why pick this model:
- Massive filter volume, 2-3x more than the competition
- If you have a PC case fan and access to Home Depot you can build this model today
- Large filters and novel airflow path reduce static pressure and enable the use of PC case fans
- 124x60mm footprint fits inside a Bambu, Prusa, or Voron enclosure
- Prints on a single build plate
- Doesn't require heat set inserts or exotic hardware
- Fusion360 CAD files are available, remixes welcomed
Supported HEPA filters:
- Preferred:
- 86880/MC-V194H vacuum filter
- Use "filter_caddy_110x74x21.stl”
- Preferred due to high surface area and integrated gasket
- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RM31JCH/
- Backup:
- 8040 vacuum filters
- Use "filter_caddy_82x41x14.stl”
- Home Depot alternative:
- Any furnace filter, cut to size and mounted in a printed frame
- Use “furnace_filter.stl” with "filter_caddy_110x74x21.stl”
- Upgrade to a vacuum filter later
Supported fans:
- Preferred:
- 3x 40x28mm axial server fans
- Use “axial_fan_caddy_40x28.stl”
- Preferred due to high static pressure and reliable quality
- These are available cheap on the used market from decommissioned servers
- Search on Amazon for “4028 fan” and find a 10 pack with reviews complaining that they're dusty and have the wrong labels
- https://www.amazon.com/s?k=4028+fan
- 40x20mm fans will fit but I’m less confident about quality
- Backup:
- 2x 5015 blower fans
- Use “blower_caddy_52x15.stl” and “blower_duct_52x15.stl”
- Alternatives that you might already have in a drawer somewhere
- 1x 120mm or 92mm PC fan
- Use “axial_fan_caddy_120x25.stl” or “axial_fan_caddy_92x25.stl”
- Upgrade to a server fan later
Activated carbon (optional):
Print settings:
- This is a big model, one wall and 5% cubic infill will print faster
Filament:
- I prototyped in PLA, you may want to use PETG or ABS if printing high temperature materials
Wiring:
- Drill a hole in the wall or floor of the enclosure
- Install wires
- todo: add instructions for normal people
Airflow measurements
- todo: measure volumetric flow and compare fan and filter configurations

How to contribute:
- Post your make, it keeps me motivated to improve the model when I see people using it! I'm especially curious to see how this fits in a Prusa or Qidi enclosure
- Post your feedback, idea or remix in the comments!
- Post a wiring tutorial!
