Description:

This is basically a remix and / or adaptation of original majsterbera's Modular Seed Dryer

Highlights:

The main differences between the original and this model are:

  • makerworld friendly → one click import to bambustudio
  • there are supports used for Legs, otherwise the arcs looked nasty
  • there is an extra notch guide for fan cable in the Fan base, useful if your fan has on/off switch on the cable that is wider then USB-A plug
  • dividers were added for better dryer real estate usage when drying several different seeds at once
  • overall measurements were strongly adjusted to have the close-to-click experience, the original is quite misaligned

What to print:

The whole dryer consists of three parts (from top to bottom):

  • Top cover - optional - you do not have to, but you really should print exactly 1x to cover your topmost seeds drying level from water / dust and accidental dropping
  • Seed Dryer segment - mandatory - you need at least one to make it work, you can have more of them and stack one on each other, these parts are named with “x n” in plates description; it consists of:

    • Dryer segment walls - mandatory - goes on top of the Dryer segment base and acts as walls to prevent seeds falling on the sides of the Dryer segment base
    • Dividers (one of 3 available) - optional - you can use either option from 3 available, the best should be the tight option, but if you are having trouble assembling both parts together consider trying loose option. You can use also single dividers if you only want to split surface to 4 parts instead of 8
    • Dryer segment base - mandatory - well you need somewhere to put your seeds onto. This part takes 6+h to print, that is why sometimes it makes more sense to divide its surface into smaller parts using Dividers

You don't have to glue all of these parts together, I did it for myself since all three parts are too loose to hold themselves together. If you are a big fan of picking different mixed seeds from the ground, do not use glue here ;-)

  • Bottom fan housing with legs - mandatory - this is where the fan is seated. You need to put the fan into the base and possibly guide its cable through the cutout or notch on the back. The standard 120mm x 120mm fan should be perfectly seated with some space on the sides to allow cable alignment without extra force. I used this fan because it has a switch (0, Low, Medium, High) and appears to not emit any sounds at all → Cooling Case Fan, Quiet Dual 120mm. In fact any 120mm x 120mm fan should be good. This element consists of (from top to bottom):

    • Fan spacer - mandatory - connects bottom fan housing together with dryer segment
    • Fan base mandatory - hold the fan and provides guide for the cable to the outside environment
    • Legs mandatory - allows some vertical space for the fan to suck the air effectively

Th whole bottom element should also be glued together, otherwise the stability might be negatively affected, especially whilst moving the seed dryer from one place to another.
