This is my own custom-designed angled connector solution for joining two cages positioned at different heights. The design features a straight pipe with connectors set at an 8-degree angle.
- Pipe hole diameter: 72mm
- Pipe length: 10cm
- Pipe wall thickness: 4mm
- First connector dimensions: 14x14cm
- Second connector dimensions: 13x13cm
- Angle: 8 degrees for both connectors
The current fit is intentionally a bit loose but very precise. If a tighter fit is preferred, increasing the pipe's outer diameter by approximately 0.2mm should do the trick. This design is easy to adjust if needed.
For added durability, especially with a tighter fit, I recommend increasing the infill density when printing the pipe. This will give it a sturdier structure.
The design is highly durable and nearly impossible for mice to find a good surface to start gnawing on. Depending on your cage layout, if the inner holes are too exposed from the inside, you can fill or cover them as needed. In my setup, the inner holes are fairly exposed, but my mouse has shown no interest in chewing on them.
