Important Note : this model is not my creation, but I did not find the equivalent here so I share my printing profiles as could be usefull

 

When using an interchangeable nozzle on the printer, we need to be careful with the torque applied when tightening the nozzle to prevent any damage on the aluminium thread (Bondtech specify a maximum of 1.5N.m)

You also need to take in account that the nozzle will be hot when swapped (220°C) so the use of a socket is nearly mandatory to not burn you finger, and let the nozzle could down when taken aside

 

I was making my own model of a knob to adapt it to a standard ¼" socket, and while searching for the maximum torque I found this model by Bondtech. They advertise a maximum torque of 1.5N.m so I printed several “stars” and took an industrial quality torque wrench to test those materials :

  • PLA (SILK and standard)
  • PLA+
  • PETG

Each measure showed a torque of less than 1N.m so this design will be safe for the thread, no matter what filament you have on hand.

It is also ratcheting on the other side which is nice at use!

 

It is composed of 2 main elements :

  • 1 body in 2 parts with clips to remain closed, and can be reopened later
  • a “star” with a choice of interface : ¼" square or ¼" Hexagonal

 

Include in this page are 2 printing profiles, one in PLA and the other in PETG.

You can mix and match (PLA body with PETG star for exemple, which is my final choice…)
