Raven Skull
This is a remix of a microCT model of a raven skull (Corven corax) originally made available by the University of Dundee Museum Collections under CC0 license.
My changes from the original:
Since this was a microCT model, it contained internal surfaces which make 3D printing difficult. I removed the internal surfaces, solidifying the model. I also filled holes and thickened some thin areas. My workflow for editing CT/microCT models is detailed in this video.
Print Settings:
I printed this raven skull in Sunlu matte PLA in bone white. Print settings include 0.12 mm layers and tree supports with 1 mm tip diameter at 20 degree threshold angle. I also use 2 Top Interface Layers and a Top Interface Spacing of 0 to make supports easier to remove but still be careful removing them! Matte PLA definitely helps make support removal easier as well.
Model is high detail and 1:1 scale so it can be used for educational purposes or scale up or print in fun colors for decorations.
I have also shared a generic 3mf on Printables.
