Ronin Beneath the Crimson Sun

A lone ronin stands on a rocky ridge, cloak trailing in the wind, with a twisted pine watching over him and a distant temple fading into the mountains. The oversized red sun is the feature piece of the print. In normal light it gives the scene a bold, graphic centre, but when placed near a window or backlit, the red base layer lets light shine through the sun and gives it a warm lantern-like glow. 

The black final layers cut the samurai, sword, tree, and cliff into sharp silhouette, giving the whole piece the feel of a quiet final scene from a Japanese-inspired tale.

Print Settings:

• 100% infill
• Sparse Infill Pattern: Rectilinear
• Turn off "Detect Narrow internal solid infill"
• 0.08mm layer height
• 0.16mm initial layer
• Model size: 200x200mm
• Optional: You can use a height range modifier up to 0.48mm to print the solid base layers at a higher layer height, such as 0.24mm.

Filaments used:

• PLA BambuLab Basic Red
• PLA BambuLab Matte Caramel
• PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White
• PLA BambuLab Basic Black

This print uses 4 unique filaments.

Similar filament colours may be used, including close Bambu Lab or equivalent alternatives, but results may vary depending on filament brand, colour, transparency, and calibration.

Swap Instructions:

• Start with Red.
• At layer #8 (0.72mm), swap to Caramel.
• At layer #10 (0.88mm), swap to Jade White.
• At layer #15 (1.28mm), swap to Black.
• At layer #18 (1.52mm), swap to Jade White for the rest.

Print Profile Description

• Standard AMS profile using 4 unique filaments.
• Suitable for a single AMS unit without manual remapping.
• Print at 100% infill with 0.08mm layer height and 0.16mm initial layer.
• Sparse Infill Pattern: Rectilinear.
• Red is used as the starting layer, allowing the sun to glow when the print is backlit or placed near a light source.
• Filament colours may be substituted with similar Bambu Lab or equivalent colours, but print results may vary depending on filament brand, colour, TD/transparency, and calibration.
