Tool belt driver bit holder (magnetic)

This hooks onto a tool belt to carry driver bits.  I find this is the best system for me.  Swapping driver bits with one hand is super easy.

This doesn't work for those tiny driver bits, but those are terrible for quick changing anyway.  The holes for the bits are 30mm deep, and what best works are driver bits that typically measure 2" in length.  Of course other bits with hex shanks will work here too, such as drill, counter sink and self centering bits.

It has a slight curve to better fit a belt profile, and has optional support for magnets on the bottom with a cap to seal.  I have tight fittings so the magnets and cap press fit - the layer lines providing a lot of friction.

My tool belt of choice for remodeling, wood working etc. is the Magnogrip tool belt (pictured) which is pretty beat up now.  For years I was putting driver bits into the magnet pouch on the front which works ok if you have 1 or 2 and not much else. But that pouch quickly gets filled and hunting around for the right driver bit is frustrating.  I don't like storing driver bits on my driver itself.  I find I need a lot, and I dislike holders that clip bits.  So I designed this.  This is my second iteration.

My first iteration had the magnets go down with the driver bit, but even with tight fittings down there some magnets would come out over time, and the magnets were too strong.  I didn't want to ca glue the magnets in place.  So this design has magnets inserted from the bottom with a cap.  With a 1mm gap between driver bit and magnet, they provide just a little force to hold them down.

I printed on a Bambu X1 Carbon which was tight tolerances, and pictured here is Bambu PETG-CF filament, which is super matte and grippy.

This is sized to accept 6mm x 2mm magnets (diameter x thickness) - you need strong ones.
