Bearing with toroidal insert
I have encountered several problems with 3D printed ball bearings, such as imperfections in the balls that cause a lot of friction, in many cases sticking to the walls, etc.
I therefore thought of reducing these problems by replacing the balls with a toroid, so that the bearing is formed from only 3 parts.
I consider the result satisfactory if the intention is to make
fully 3D printed designs, but obviously the performance of a metal ball bearing cannot be matched by a 3D printed plastic bearing.
The bearing I printed is type 608
D22 mm d 8mm H 7mm
You can scale the dimensions of the bearing to make it bigger, but I do not recommend reducing the dimensions as the space between the parts would be too small.
If you decide to print it, please leave me feedback.
Thank you!
