This is my collection of my version 1.0 through currently version 2.5 of my transforming chess pawn.

If a folder only has one or two files, it is because I just included the ones I updated.

v1.0 - basic main body

v2.1 - redesign

v2.2 - shaped bottom

v2.3 - shaped top

v2.4 - started design of spring pin

v2.5 - latch and spring pin designed, prototype complete

 

 

Assembly instructions:

nozzle size: 0.25 or smaller

Layer Height: small

Supports: tree

bed adhesion: brim

 

BOTTOM / LATCH PIECE INSTRUCTIONS:

 

glue in 8*1.5 magnets to the bottom side of the latch piece, the latch piece should be printed on its sides

 

for layer height 0.08mmm:

  • print latch and insert piece
  • at layer height 48 make a pause to superglue down the latch
  • at layer height 87 make a pause to place insert piece - bevel side up
  • finish printing

for layer height 0.12

  • print latch and insert piece
  • at layer height 32-33 make a pause to superglue down the latch
  • at layer height 58 make a pause to place insert piece - bevel side up
  • finish printing

TOP PIECE / SPRING PIN INSTRUCTIONS:

  • print spring pin laying down for best strength
  • super glue the spring pin into the top piece

FINAL ASSEMBLY:

  • clip the layers together, and put a standard ball pen spring on the bottom of the spring pin
