Wall Tiles -Mod Set 1
These are wall tiles that can be used as actual wall tiles. That said, I would avoid using near heat sources or on surfaces that may come into contact with hot things (like near stoves/ovens or countertops. These can also be used as coasters. I taped the tiles together on the back side and used double sided tape as I do not want them permanently installed. You could potentially use these more permanently.
These require AMS to print. Be mindful of your flush settings if you use darker colors.!!
Unlike real tiles, these cannot be cut to fit your space so you need to print them to the correct size. I have an example below to guide you through determining how to resize the tiles. You can resize the tiles by selecting them and then clicking the SCALE icon.

Firstly when resizing, you need to uncheck the uniform scale box. The X and Y need to have the same number inside to make the tile perfectly square, but the Z needs to stay at 2mm regardless of how much you scale it in either direction.
Instructions for calculating the tile size for your project:.
-
measure the width and height of the area you want to place the tiles. In the example I have measured the width of the sink at 46.5cm and height at 11cm. It is more important to me that the tiles extend the length rather than the height. so I have a little flexibility here. I just need to make sure they aren't taller than 11cm.
2. Open the calculator on your computer. Dont do by hand because you could make a mistake and its best to use a calculator.
2. You are going to divide the length by different number of tiles to find the best size.
So first what I did was try divided 46.5 into equal segments. I tried 4 tiles, 5 tiles, and 6 tiles. If I used 4 tiles, the tiles would be 11.62x11.62, which exceeds my 11cm height. So I cannot use that size.
Dividing by 5, I get 9.3cm. This size would also work. There will be a 1.7 gap between base of sink and the cabinet, but that is acceptable to me.
Dividing by 6 would be sized 7.76cm. This would also work but the gap between the sink and cabinet would be bigger.
Choose the size that works best for your project. I choose 5x tiles at 9.3 x 9.3 x 2mm.
If you plan on doing more than 1 row, you need to make sure it does not exceed the height when there is however many rows you want to use.
I have a bunch more ideas for tiles and have already started working on them so I will be posting them in the near future.
