Overview

This is a precision-engineered First Layer Test designed specifically for the Bambu Lab A1. While the A1 features a 256x256mm build plate, this model is optimized to 255x255mm to provide a safety margin for physical bed alignment tolerances while still testing the maximum reachable surface area.

Key Design Features

  • Purge Line Clearance: The front section includes a custom indent (cutout) specifically designed to avoid interference with the printer's initial purge line.
  • Edge-to-Edge Validation: Perfect for verifying that your Auto-Bed Leveling (ABL) and Z-offset are consistent across the entire heatbed, including the extreme corners.
  • High-Precision Sizing: At 255mm, it avoids accidental nozzle strikes on the bed clips or edges caused by slight manual alignment errors.

Special Feature: Deep Bed Cleaning

This model doubles as a bed maintenance utility.

  • The Method: Once the print is finished, peel the layer off while the build plate is still slightly warm (approx. 40~50°C).
  • The Benefit: The large, continuous surface area acts as a cleaning film. As you peel it, it lifts away micro-dust, tiny filament debris, and old adhesive residues that are difficult to see, leaving your PEI plate refreshed and ready for your next big project.

Printing Instructions & Tips

  • Crucial Step: Please ensure you have completed the Filament Flow Calibration before running this test. Accurate flow is required to correctly diagnose leveling issues.
  • Layer Height: Optimized for a 0.2mm first layer.
  • Diagnostics:
    • Smooth & Solid: Perfect leveling.
    • Rough/Rippled: Nozzle is too close (Lower the Z-offset).
    • Gaps/Poor Adhesion: Nozzle is too far (Raise the Z-offset).
