This is a custom-designed, low-profile protective case for the Arduino Portenta H7. It features a two-piece snap-fit design to keep your development board safe while ensuring hardware accessibility for industrial or IoT prototyping.
I have designed it from scratch using FreeCAD and attached the original project file, allowing the community to easily modify, remix, or adapt the tolerances.
🛠️ Key Features
- Port Alignment: Precision cutouts for the USB-C port, antenna connector.
- Integrated Standoffs: Built-in mounting pillars that securely hold the Portenta H7 PCB in place, preventing any internal sliding or rattling.
- Passive Cooling Airflow: Internal clearances that leverage natural heat dissipation, perfect for the H7's dual-core workload without requiring a bulky open cutout.
🖨️ 3D Printing Settings (Recommended)
- Material: PLA works excellent for general prototyping. PETG or ABS/ASA is recommended if deployed in industrial environments or high-temperature setups.
- Layer Height: 0.2mm (or 0.16mm for a finer snap-fit joint finish).
- Infill: 15% - 20% (Gyroid or Grid).
- Supports: No supports needed. Both top and bottom shells are optimized to be printed completely flat on the build plate.
- Wall Loops / Perimeters: 3 for rigid and durable clips.
If you find this model useful for your hardware projects, please leave a review, upload your print profile, and share your makes!
UPDATE 29/06/2026
I forgot adding the LED Holes on the top part, so I have added them and added a new top-with-led-holes.stl file and added a new print profile including the holes.
