Arduino Portenta X8 Case

This is a custom-designed, protective, and functional case for the Arduino Portenta X8. This enclosure is specifically optimized for adding a heat sink, improving the thermal management.

I have designed it using FreeCAD.

🛠️ Key Features

• Heatsink Clearance Area: This case features a dedicated cutout on the top shell designed to accommodate an aftermarket heatsink (not included with the stock board).
• Integrated Push Button: Includes a mechanical cutout/pass-through button to easily interact with the board's physical button without needing to open the enclosure or use a pin.
• Connector Alignment: Easy access to the USB-C port and status LEDs.

🖨️ 3D Printing Settings (Recommended)

• Material: PLA (PETG or ABS/ASA recommended if your Portenta X8 runs exceptionally hot or is deployed in industrial environments).
• Layer Height: 0.2mm
• Infill: 15% - 20% (Gyroid or Grid)
• Supports: No supports needed if printed flat on the bed.
• Wall Loops / Perimeters: 3 for extra rigidity around the ports.
