Spool for refills compatible with the AMS Lite system (A1 mini, A1, A2L).

To be honest, the idea of printing spools reminds me of my Ender 3 days, and I really designed this one as a last resort. I ordered refills because I was certain they would fit a different filament brand (the mounting diameter for the AMS fits, but the inner diameter for the spool itself does not).

I'm not too satisfied with the designs currently published here.

I focused on ease of assembly, aesthetics, functionality, and low filament usage (52–57g per half). The print time is quite long, but I didn't want to compromise on anything.

Assembly is a press-fit. The visible "spikes" increase slightly in diameter the deeper you push the spool halves together. After inserting the first "ring of spikes" evenly, gently tap with your hand until the half-seat is fully settled. Repeat the same with the other side – the halves are symmetrical.

Once you cut the tie wraps, leave the spool assembled until the filament is completely used up. Do not disassemble it.

In my subjective opinion, my spool looks nice.

Dimensions: 19.8mm diameter, 2mm thickness

Filament usage is approximately 104g for a 0.4mm nozzle and about 114g for a 0.6mm nozzle (standard profiles). Given the geometry and the nearly full solid print of the circle, I think this is a good result. "Ultralight" spools that are basically holes with a spool, rather than a spool with holes, have similar consumption.
