BEAPER Bot is an easy to build robot platform for both the beginner BEAPER Nano circuit for Arduino Nano ESP32and the BEAPER Pico circuit for Raspberry Pi Pico.

All of BEAPER Bot's parts are designed to snap, clip, and slide together without using any screws or other fasteners, and you can create your own robot add-ons for the dove tail slots around its perimeter!

Components you'll need to build a BEAPER Bot:

1- BEAPER Bot chassis - this version of the chassis is designed with a built-in optical ToF (Time-of-flight) distance sensor mount for the front wheel drive robot configuration. (Other versions of the BEAPER Bot chassis design are available – one for mounting the ToF sensor in a rear wheel drive configuration, and a plain chassis without a built-in ToF sensor mount.) The chassis print file includes four motor mounting clips – two are required to mount the gear motors, and the other two are spares.

2 - 6V, 200RPM N20 gear motors recommended (it can work with LA-002, LA-003, and LA-004 motors from Makerworld, but these won't plug directly into BEAPER Nano or BEAPER Pico)

2 - 34mm plastic wheels

1 - roller ball assembly

1 - 4AA battery holder

1 - BEAPER Nano or BEAPER Pico circuit board or circuit kit

Optional BEAPER Bot components:

  • BEAPER Bot motor mounting tool - makes the installation of motor mounting clips easier and is recommended for schools, robotics clubs, makerspaces, and anyone building multiple BEAPER Bots
  • BEAPER Bot motor mounting clips - spare sets of clips that can be printed separately (four are included in the chassis design)
  • BEAPER Bot optical floor sensor mounts - used to mount BEAPER Nano or BEAPER Pico's break-away optical floor sensor modules on the outside of BEAPER Bot to create line-following and floor sensing robots
  • BEAPER Bot servo mounts - a variety of snap-in mounts have already been designed for commonly available SG90 9G micro servos and MG90S metal gear servos, including vertical, horizontal, and corner mounts
  • BEAPER Bot dovetail plates - attach your own designs to the outside of your BEAPER Bot

Printing tips

Use a 0.4mm nozzle and optimal or high quality print settings to ensure an accurate fit for the motor mounts, motor mounting clips, and mounting slots. The default print profile produces a good quality print at a fast speed. PLA works fine!
