Ran in to some binding and catching issues with the filament, especially with the AMS.
So, using the Y Splitter as inspiration, I redesinged it from the ground up.
Features of my design:
- Shoulders that mate to the inside of the fittings. (Except for top barrel.)
- Chamfer on input shoulder for smooth filament insertion
- Extended mating should on output.
- Alignment with short section of input tube.
- No modifications required.
- Top barrel is rounded and tapered for smooth filament travel from side mounted spool
In short, it “Just Works.”
What you will need:
- 4 x PC4-M10 pneumatic fittings
- https://www.amazon.com/Witbot-Straight-Pneumatic-Connector-Long-Distance/dp/B01KHN1HWY
- 10mm wrench to install
- 5in/127mm PTFE Tube (4mm OD/2mm ID)
- 2 x M3 8mm socket head machine screws
Some of the fittings can be difficult to line up square and thread in, just be patient and deliberate. Pushing down on the aligned fitting while using the wrench to screw in does help.
Feel free to remix. I have provided the Fusion 360 .3mf file. If you do not want/are unable to modify, but have a suggestion for improvement, let me know and will likely do it for you.
