Use straight path for AMS ‼
You can created a "NO AMS" Printer where you just remove the AMS gcode. So you don't need to disconnect the AMS anymore or disable it. Further you can use a automatic filament change function without AMS by painting or set a change at a layer which will call a new "change filament" G-code that is now retracting and cutting the filament then unloading and waiting with a pause.
You simply can now remove the filament and insert the new, after confirming it will purge, wipe and commence your print. And after (end -gcode) it is cutting and unloading again so you can just pull the filament after the print in case your next is using the AMS again or you want a different color next time.
