I made this for a mug warmer with a dreaded barrel jack power adapter that takes up yet another outlet but consumes only 20 something watts. It was left on for couple hours without noticeable heat on the enclosure surface, so I guess it's working fine.
Enclosure comes in 2 parts, the lid and the shell. These parts are assembled together with printed railing and some dots to snap in at the rear of the model, no gluing required for assembling but I did put some on the pd board and wire. A small hole on the lid is made there for led to shine through. PD board friction fits into the connector's front opening, a pair of pliers is recommended to squish it in. Rear opening for wires is opened at 4.2mm diameter, and can perfectly fit the connector listed below.
Parts used in the demo build:
- USB PD trigger board @ 20x30mm like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRH2YMSM
- Barrel jack connector: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BXDQLYTB
- This listing runs at $10 for 20 connectors, somehow cheaper than buying barrel jack in my area
- And its connectors are better-made compare to other listing I've returned
