Original bearing went bad after one winter due to water ingress on bearing. After replacing bearings, I added bearing cover to prevent that happening again.
Take this model with grain of salt as I modeled this in hurry without calibers. They're now installed but it will probably take a year to see how well they hold up.
Working principle is really simple: marine grease or other really sticky grease keeps water out and cover holds the grease while keeping dust away.
6008-2RS fits for smax
Installation:
- Put sticky grease in the groove.
- Glue both pieces with glue that seals as well. I used rvt silicone that isn't corrosive.

- Wait until it dries and test how it works by spinning the axle. It should not add any noticeable resistance, or make any additional noises.
Additionally you can use a little amount of super glue or quick epoxy to keep it in place when assembling while sealing glue dries up.
